Summer Academy
In cooperation with our fellows, re:work organises an annual summer academy with changing themes; these depend on our guest researcher’s current focus. This provides a means of integrating junior scholars from all over the world into re:work’s project as the call for papers is published internationally. Furthermore, it helps foster an intellectual network consisting of younger scholars whose research interests are connected to the current subject under study. The annual summer academy takes place at a partner institution outside of Germany. It is open for doctoral students from all over the world (English is usually the working language) specialising in the field of work/labour from historical perspectives and others from within the social sciences. Within this framework, participants present their projects (40 minutes) and comment on one of their peer’s projects (20 minutes).
Applicants are required to send in a brief outline of their current project (max. 3 pages) as well as a two-page essay on how their work relates to the theme of the summer academy and how they can contribute to it. The outline and the essay have to be submitted along with a CV and the names/email addresses of two referees. Applicants are asked to fill out an electronic form that will be available in due course. We only accept electronically submitted applications.
Participants’ travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the summer academy’s organisers.
